We first thought about a toastmaster when we booked our venue as it’s a large place and we thought that a point of contact was a must, from meeting Garry at our home we felt very comfortable and wanted to book him. From start to finish with Garry it’s been a very easy process of chats on the phone and Garry making me feel that everything was under control, and it was. The day ran to plan everything went so well and if Garry wasn’t there it wouldn’t have done, by the end of the day we felt we had gained a friend. Since returning from our honeymoon we have had so many cards and letters from our guests and everyone spoke so highly of Garry. They said he spoke to everyone and made time for people nothing was a problem.

I was your typical bride that had control over everything right up to the last detail and minute, until about 5 days before my wedding when I realised I could not enjoy the day and control everything! The English Toastmaster (or Garry as we fondly call him!) was spectacular on our wedding day, the day ran so smoothly with him, he was always there helping out from assisting rounding up family for photos, getting us drinks in the sweltering heat (he didn’t show signs of melting even though he had to wear his jacket all day!), helping me clean my dress when we found a mark on it. He taught my husband to perform Sabrage which added an extra element after the speeches! I was not that bothered about having a toastmaster but my dad (who had one on his wedding day 41 years ago) was really keen for me to have one. Garry was absolutely fantastic - he made sure our wedding day was perfect and that any minor hitches were dealt with and smoothed over so that we didn't have to worry about anything. He was professional and courteous to everyone. He thought about things that hadn't even crossed our minds, for example he was ready with a tissue to wipe the heels of my shoes when we came in from having our photos taken, so as to make sure my dress didn't get muddy. He made sure no guests were stood with no-one to talk to, and introduced people to each other. He somehow seemed to know everyone's names and how they were related to us. We had endless comments from our guests both during and after the wedding as to how impressed they were with him and how good he was. He remembered all the little things which help to make the day go so well. I have recommended him to everyone I know who is getting or has got married recently. We attended a friend's wedding in September 2010 and she also had booked Garry (having been very impressed with his level of service at our wedding) and he remembered us and every detail of our wedding. Garry was brilliant, both before our wedding in explaining what his role was to be and what we should expect of him and on the day itself when we really couldn't have asked for anything better. He acted with the utmost professionalism at all time, whilst being approachable and taking time to listen to and sort out any queries we had with the venue. From the first time that we met Garry we knew that he would be essential to our day going off without a hitch! He understood our requirements and with a lot of elements to squeeze into a short time span he had his work cut out. Nothing was too much trouble for him from helping out with everyone’s buttonholes to lending his gloves to our flower girl when her hands got cold, he couldn't do enough for us. I would like to say that Garry was the best money spent at our wedding, and to be honest I wonder now how my wife and I could have possibly managed the day without him, he is definitely worth every single penny and I personally recommend him to anyone thinking of having a Toastmaster.

There were one or two issues which came up during the day, such as the late arrival of the groom’s sister. Garry was able to deal with these situations in a professional and appropriate manner to ensure that these issues would not get in the way of a most wonderful day!

We would like to thank Garry for the excellent service he performed at our wedding in August 2010. From the moment we contacted him about our wedding until the day following, Garry conducted himself in a friendly and professional manner. On the wedding day he was able to deal with any issue that arose from the late arrivals to guests being stung by wasps! We had Garry Smith – The English Toastmaster at our wedding in September 2010, it was the best thing we did, and he was worth his weight in gold.

A wedding day takes so long to plan and all you want is it to run as smoothly as possible, with no worries or decisions to make. That’s Garry’s job and he made them for us on our day. All we had to worry about was looking pretty, smiling and talking to our guests (and having a tipple of course!).

When we first met Garry, it was like meeting up with an old friend, he made us feel so relaxed, he was so courteous, well mannered and professional.

On our wedding day everything ran according to plan and like clockwork. He was making everyone laugh as well as doing his job, you would have thought he was our guest or member of the family, but the very smart red suit gave it away.

Hi Garry,

We just wanted to email you to thank you so much for being our toastmaster for our wedding on 23/05/10.

You made the whole day spectacular. From our first meeting, you put us at ease about everything, you took in every little detail and I remember what you told us "Don’t ask me to do anything......you TELL me to do it!!".

When arriving at the venue (that very very hot and nervous day) you had done your upmost in making sure everything was right, was there to greet us individually and you'd even listened to my entrance music to time the intro so we would get it exactly right. You made sure the pictures ran smoothly and I lost count on how many times you went back and forth in the sweltering heat to get drinks for us and the photographer!!! You’re just too cool!!!

I've had so many comments about how absolutely brilliant you were and the Sabrage you did with Graham went down a storm! To be honest I really don't know how we would have got on without you!!! As my Dad said "that man is worth his weight in gold!"

We wanted to say “thank you” for your role as Toastmaster at the wedding of Laura-Jane and Chris on Saturday. As you were aware, our decision to hire a professional Toastmaster for the day was a last minute decision with only three months to go. However, from the moment we met you, you gave us all complete peace of mind and we felt that the whole worry of the occasion had been lifted from our shoulders. Your presence at both the Church and venue was so reassuring, and nothing was too much trouble during the whole day and evening. Everything went like clockwork and without any hitches whatsoever, and the guests remarked on how very helpful you were, without being obtrusive. We have even been told that you were rather concerned about one elderly guest who happened to be diabetic (although you did not know this at the time) and you managed to rustle up some sandwiches from the chef before the wedding breakfast was served. Laura-Jane has since remarked that she did not think she would have got through the day without you, as you managed to suppress the nerves (and hold her bouquet!!)

Once again, the whole family would like to thank you for all of your help, both before and during the day itself. Our special day was perfect, made so by your presence.

I must say what an amazing job you did last night Garry at our Macmillan Christmas Ball, we had lots of very good feedback about you. The little touches like being there for the ladies with an umbrella when they arrived made it very special.
