Often local authorities, borough, town or parish councils hold formal civic functions throughout their calendar year and many of these occasions involve some form of banquet. The style for these functions may vary, but in essence they are all very similar. A Master of Ceremonies would co-ordinate the whole running order so that timings are adhered to and the function passes by without a hitch.
